St. Vincent de Paul
By Laoise
Shortly before Christmas, we a few students gathered money at the weekend masses at their local churches in aid of St. Vincent de Paul. There was an adult present at each gate that always fundraise for the charity and they talked to us about how they got involved in the charity. It was nice to get to know them and hear their stories.
In the school, we set up a food appeal from the 10th of December to the 14th. A student or two would be at the collection point in the library every morning and the students would drop in their stuff, from selection boxes and crisps to crackers and pasta. It was nice to see everyone involved in helping out families who might not be able to get much this Christmas.
